“Be brave. Be bold”. Robbins took her character’s advice and knocked it out of the park with this debut novel. And let me be clear, reading this did not feel like I was reading a self-published, debut novel. Robbins really flexed her ability to write prose in this story. There was clear, natural character development and her writing style was clearly her own in a way that felt refreshing. The world felt fully imagined despite the setting being kept in only one of the nine realms. I look forward to future books in this series as the realms are further explored. I’d love to rave about the plot or characters specifically but that would lead to spoilers.
