The plague that destroyed Norman’s home world has been discovered on the one he and his friends escaped to, dredging up all the old memories of the horrors he went through. It has destroyed every world it has been found on, including Angel’s, a member of another group like his. Survivors who are bound together mentally and emotionally by unbreakable bonds formed when they escaped.

Some of their friends move to get the evidence of the blight to those they think can help, while Norman, Angel and more of their friends work to discover why monsters keep appearing from other worlds in a Wyoming forest, then vanishing without a trace.

Lurking behind all of that are the mysterious links that bind the two groups together. Coincidences that can’t be explained, as well as signs that appear when two members of the groups become close, connecting their bond to their groups to each other as well. Their origin and purpose a mystery, the two druids refuse to allow them to stop their feelings for each other, but are the links a sign of those feelings, or the cause of them?
