Jason G. Waters
Jason George Waters was born in 1974 to Francis and Sandra Waters, hardworking middle-class farmers. From a young age, Jason worked alongside his family on the farm until it was eventually sold, which was a turning point that shaped his resilience and adaptability.
Growing up, Jason often felt like an outsider. He was bullied for his soft voice and gentle demeanor, and he spent much of his childhood immersed in books, where he found comfort and inspiration. In high school, an encouraging English teacher recognized his natural storytelling ability and jokingly compared his writing to that of Stephen King. That moment planted a seed.
After graduating high school in 1993, Jason spent six years working in a bicycle factory before enrolling at Illinois State University. There, he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science while juggling full-time studies and a job at a local dry cleaner. After graduating in 2006, he began his professional career at State Farm Bank and continued working part-time until he relocated to California.
In 2008, Jason took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles with no job or home secured, but with determination, interviews lined up, and a dream. That same year, he began working for a State Farm agent, staying in the industry for several years before joining Kaiser Permanente in Burbank in 2015.
Beyond his professional life, Jason has always been driven by a passion for learning and storytelling. As a child, he was captivated by the world news his father played on the radio, sparking a lifelong curiosity about people, cultures, and places. Over the years, he honed this passion through writing songs and poems with his niece, Alex, and eventually realized that his true calling was to tell stories that connect and uplift.
In March 2015, Jason began writing the Sheldon Majors series, bringing his vivid imagination and empathy to life on the page. His writing reflects a core belief: storytelling is a powerful tool to inspire and entertain.
Jason published his first book, Sheldon Majors and the Chase, in October 2024, followed by the second installment, Sheldon Majors and This Queer Love, on August 2025. He currently resides in Southern California, where he is editing book three and writing book four. He also works at Kaiser Permanente as a National Account Manager and seizes every opportunity to travel and see the world.
