Syn Phoenix McDonald was born in Richmond, Virginia, and spent most of their childhood traveling around the country with his parents before settling in Wisconsin. He married and had a family, enjoying his work as a Respiratory Therapist before a sudden diagnosis of brain cancer ended the career he loved. Not to be stopped, he turned to writing and found a new passion. After moving to Oregon to be near his son and grandson, he found himself at last to be home. He has published the first two books in his YA Fantasy series The Talent Continuum, and is currently working on a new horror novel.
